Prophet Prince Osei, the former husband of Ghanaian gospel singer Empress Gifty, has shared in detail why their marriage could not survive despite their many efforts to keep it together.
In a video posted on Instagram on December 2, 2025, Prophet Osei explained that their union came to a painful end because they struggled to communicate well with each other.
He stated that if he had understood the importance of clear and honest communication and applied it in his relationship, they might have remained a couple.
The prophet noted that prayer on its own is not enough to sustain a marriage. After his separation from the popular gospel musician, he made a deliberate choice to improve the way he expresses himself and listens to others.
He stressed that a successful marriage requires more than prayer and faithfulness. In his view, even intimate matters within a relationship depend greatly on how partners communicate.
Prophet Osei also reflected on how he first met Empress Gifty at a time when she was working as a seamstress. He said she was a designer at Tema Community One and that he immediately saw her potential in music because of her strong voice.
According to him, it was her brother who introduced her to him. She was not a member of his church at the time, but her brother encouraged her to attend.
