OSP Summons DVLA CEO Over Alleged GH¢4 Million Bribery to Stop Digital Plate Project

Julius Neequaye Kotey

The Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Julius Neequaye Kotey, has been summoned by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) over allegations of bribery.

This development comes after Kotey disclosed in a media interview that an unidentified person allegedly offered him GH¢4 million to halt the implementation of the new Digital Vehicle Registration Plate (DP) policy.

According to him, he turned down the offer and dismissed the individuals involved, explaining that he chose not to file a police report to protect the DVLA’s reputation from further damage.

The OSP has since invited Kotey to support ongoing investigations to authenticate his statements and uncover the identities of those behind the alleged bribery attempt.
